About Quincy Bioscience

Quincy Bioscience has a mission to help people with the many age-related challenges that result from neuronal calcium imbalance. Quincy Bioscience began in 2004 with the development of proprietary calcium-binding technology based on a protein called “apoaequorin” – named after Aequorea Victoria, the species of jellyfish in which it was originally discovered.

Extensive research has described an important role for unregulated calcium levels in the etiology of cognitive declines seen in aging individuals. One reason for the disruption of calcium homeostasis is the decreased levels of calcium binding proteins in aging nerve cells.

Apoaequorin has been widely-utilized as a calcium indicator in research for the past four decades and its properties are well-known. Quincy Bioscience has proposed and developed a safe, non-toxic, therapeutic application for the protein in the form of Prevagen and Prevagen Professional.

Quincy Bioscience manufactures Prevagen and Prevagen Professional in the state of Wisconsin following NNFA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines using sophisticated fermentation technology.
